The need for palliative care is a growing concern all around the world, with the increase of chronic diseases, the aging of the society and the development of diagnostic possibilities. The goal of palliative care is to improve quality of life rather than cure or lengthening of life. It is a long and challenging process requiring a multidisciplinary team approach.
